ABOUT THE PROJECT
โAll different, all the sameโ -the description of the project
The project involves 6 schools from Hungary, Poland, Turkey, Latvia, Spain and Italy.
It started from the idea โLive Freely and Individual Like a Tree, and in a Brotherhood Like a Forestโ. Each nation has its culture but besides differences there are similarities that we share. Recognising this fact should help young people get rid of prejudices and realize that we are not opponents and showing respect and working together will let us achieve a lot and live in peace.
Target participants of the project will be mainly students between the age 14-19 but also their teachers, parents, local communities and NGOโs.
The main objectives of the project are as follows:
- to notice our traditional and cultural values
- to notice differences and similarities among our partner communities
- to promote peace, understanding and communication
- to encourage school education.
We have planned six mobilities to achieve the objectives:
- in November 2019 to Hungary to learn and share Hungarian culture and traditional musical instruments
- in March 2020 to Poland to learn and share Polish culture and traditional games
- in May 2020 to Latvia to learn and share Latvian culture and legends
- in October 2020 to Spain to learn and share Spanish culture and feasts
- in March 2020 to Italy to learn and share Italian culture and traditional cuisine
- in May 2020 to Turkey to learn and share Turkish culture and folk dance.
The purpose of the project is to create and exchange practices and materials that will be used as teaching and learning tools for many years in the future. We also want to create some connections between the partners that could lead to collaboration between schools and local authorities.
With each mobility we hope to let our students learn more about the partnersโ culture, improve language skills, increase interpersonal communication and self-confidence.
The dissemination of the results is every partnerโs responsibility. It will be made by using various media (website, tv, radio), working with local authorities and presenting the results to teachers, parents, other schools and local communities. Thus, we intend to disseminate the project through different activities at a local and national level.
